Nuvation engineers work on projects combining digital and analog board-level electronic designs, large and small FPGAs/CPLDs, and embedded software and firmware.  We operate in a wide variety of vertical markets and technology sectors, including telecom/datacom/storage, consumer electronics, medical and scientific systems and devices, security/defense/aerospace, semiconductor and test, imaging/video/broadcast applications, and many other areas.  Therefore, we are seeking individuals who have an understanding of MANY different technologies, and a quick ability (and desire) to learn new technologies. This person should know something about (and be excited by) a broad range of technologies and applications.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to manage and execute multiple development projects.  This person would be responsible for managing two to ten engineers on projects involving electronics and embedded systems design.  This person would work heavily with customers, and manage and participate in design cycles from concept to production.  This position will require full responsibility for project success.  Comparable job descriptions with other firms would include Director-level or Program Manager positions.

• Electronic system design and architecture definition
• Leading and managing engineering design teams
• Project Management, including schedule and budget responsibility
• Functional Management of staff and senior engineers
• Plan and manage full development cycles
• Design review and consultation across many projects
• Project estimation
• Direct work and communication with multiple customers

• 10+ years working experience in Embedded systems design (Hardware, FPGA, or Firmware/Software)
• Technical Leadership and advanced design in one or more areas:
• Detailed circuit design (board-level analog and digital)
• FPGA/CPLD logic design (Verilog and/or VHDL)
• Embedded Software / Firmware
• Experience managing projects with 5-10 engineers over 6+ months
• Managing people
• Technical excellence combined with leadership
• Experience working with full hardware design cycles (from concept to manufacturing)
• Experience managing product transitions from R&D to Manufacturing, including certifications, small volume builds, and related activities
