Job Summary:

The IT Technician is a support position with the primary responsibility of ensuring the day-to-day tasks related to the support of our employees and IT Administrator  are successfully completed.  This is a part time, contract position for approximately 10 – 20 hours per week.  On occasion, services will be required outside of regular business hours to address any emergencies, perform scheduled maintenance, and upgrade systems.

Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the IT Administrator in San Jose, the IT Technician is required to perform the following:

• Install PCs, software, and peripheral equipment
• Connect PCs to the network
• Assist with PC, network configuration, and cabling
• Carry out the policies and procedures related to PC, network hardware and software installation and implementation, use, support, and security
• Enter, update, and complete information through daily updating of all issue tracking documents and the Help Desk software
• Provide coverage for help desk position as required
• Answer questions and solve problems by applying knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures, being of service to the users
• Initiate and manage service requests with software and hardware vendors regarding product issues/defects/warranties

• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with a variety of network and PC hardware and software
• Experience with Windows XP configuration, networking, and associated software
• A+ or Network+ certification preferred
• Commitment to the development and implementation of proactive/preventative measures
