6/1/10: Nuvation Designs Battery Management System for Electric Vehicle
In a partnership with OptaMotive, Nuvation designed a battery-management system for an electric
vehicle called the E.Rex, which is competing for the Progressive Insurance Automotive X PRIZE,
a $10 million competition to inspire a new generation of viable, super-efficient vehicles capable
of achieving 100 MPGe (miles per gallon or its energy equivalent).

Nuvation's IP Camera 'PoE-WDR DM365' reference design compresses real-time, full-color 720x480 (D1) video over Ethernet at up to 30 frames per second. TI's recently announced DM365 digital media processor is a highly integrated system-on-chip (SoC) featuring an ARM926 processor in addition to the Video Processing Subsystem for video compression at an industry-leading price-performance.

Nuvation introduced a robot that plays air hockey, at the annual Freescale Technology Forum, and won the 'People's Choice Award' for best innovation. Utilizing advanced algorithms developed by Nuvation for puck motion estimation, game strategy, and visual field distortion correction, Air-HockeyBot 1000 challenged 8 out of every 10 players from scoring in their first 3 minutes! The intelligence is implemented on custom hardware developed by Nuvation featuring Freescale Coldfire and 9S08 microprocessors.

MCVFE: A video security Multichannel Video Front-End, and
SVP: An ultra-high performance, Scalable Video Platform.
Engineering evaluation units are available for purchase and the reference design source files can be licensed from Nuvation. Nuvation also offers project-based and China Offshore Development Center (CODC) electronic design services.
