12/14/04: Nuvation completes Lead (Pb)-Free design
Nuvation today announced that it has completed a new product design in strict adherence to the lead-free initiative mandated by many countries around the world, such as RoHS, WEEE, and SB20 Directives. The realized electronics design for this multinational client is an emulator for a storage device utilizing USB 2.0, SATA to PATA Bridge, and SATA Switch. In the process of developing this product, Nuvation gained the intellectual capital to design to lead-free standards and will apply this knowledge as needed in future designs. Many companies are now redesigning their products to meet new lead-free regulations or in response to end-of-life (EOL) components phased out by the semiconductor companies.

11/1/04: Nuvation CURRENT spotlights Texas Instrument’s DM642
The Nuvation CURRENT newsletter awards this issue’s Spotlight to TI’s TMS320DM642 DSP. Nuvation has utilized this DSP is several designs, most recently with an H.264 streaming video application.

9/27/04: Nuvation opens Engineering Design Center in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
Nuvation today announced that that it has opened a design center in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The Waterloo Design Center will expand Nuvation's global EDS capabilities as well as Nuvation's IP Portfolio. Read the full press release here.

3/18/04: Nuvation certified by Altera to provide design support for Stratix GX OEMs
Nuvation today announced that is has expanded its strategic alliance with Altera to include specialized high-speed design support for Stratix GX OEMs. Nuvation is one of only four firms in North America to be qualified and chosen by Altera for this program. Please read the full press release here.

1/7/04: Nuvation begins coding of PCI-Express IP Core for FPGAs
Nuvation announced today that it has begun the development phase of a PCI-Express IP core. Nuvation architected and designed its PCI-Express core in 2003 and has now secured a confidential lead customer for product development. The lead customer will benefit from a 16-lane PCI-Express core Physical layer along with a hardware validation platform designed to their specific requirements. Availability for additional licensees is Q2 for Stratix GX. Data link layer and Transaction layers will be developed to customer demand in 2004.
