10/11/05: Nuvation releases Serial-ATA (SATA) IP core
Nuvation's newest core is the SATA IP Core; a drop-in core used to interface between memory or memory mapped I/O and SATA devices. The core includes the transport and link layers of a host controller, or host bus adapter (HBA). For more information, browse the datasheet.

9/25/05: Nuvation joins Hike For A Cure
The Annual Hike-for-a-Cure climbe5d to its fifth year. With 175 hikers this year, the half dome challenge grows every year. In 2004, the organization raised $70K, and the goal in 2005 is to match last year if not supersede.

6/15/05: Nuvation introduces ATA-4 and ATA-5 for Altera SOPC Builder
Nuvation today introduced enhanced ATA-4 and ATA-5 IDE Cores as drop-in ATA-Host IP cores with Avalon Interfaces. These cores are available immediately for integration with Altera FPGAs and for use in SOPC Builder tool flows. The ATA-4 and ATA-5 Avalon cores from Nuvation can be licensed as netlist or source code. Please contact Nuvation for more information.

5/05/05: Nuvation certified by Altera as HardCopy Design Center
Nuvation today announced that Altera Corporation has chosen Nuvation to be among a very select group of Certified Design Centers for their HardCopy program. As such, Nuvation is undergoing specialized training for developing structured ASICs using Altera's HardCopy program with FPGA prototyping and tool flows. Altera will also provide focused support to Nuvation and its' client base throughout the design and masking process. Altera and its OEMs benefit by aggregating multiple designs through a pre-certified and well-established design center.

4/21/05: Nuvation introduces stand-alone GFP-F IP Core
Nuvation's GFP-F IP Core receives and maps entire client signal frames into one GFP frame adhering to the format set out for the frame-mapped GFP mode of client signal adaptation. The core is available for Altera Stratix, Stratix-II, Stratix GX / II GX, Cyclone, and Cyclone-II devices and utilizes an Altera-standard Atlantic interface. The core can be licensed from Nuvation by contacting ip@nuvation.com

3/30/05: Nuvation keynotes at TI DSP Champs event.
Nuvation's VP of Sales & Marketing, Chris Hallahan, delivered the keynote address to Texas Instrument's worldwide DSP sales & marketing organization. Nuvation is a TI 3rd party partner, a high volume customer, and a vendor to TI and was honored to be chosen for the keynote speakership.

2/28/05: Ziggy, CycloneBot, and KillerMoose compete in the RoboGames battlebot competition.
Nuvation and CM Robotics have introduced two new combat robots, Ziggy and KillerMoose, both of which debuted at the RoboGames competition in San Francisco this past week. Weighing in at 340 lbs, Ziggy is a new super-heavyweight bot sponsored by Freescale Semiconductor, featuring ZigBee wireless control and a pneumatic flipper that can send a 300+ lb competitor flying up to 15 feet. KillerMoose competes in the 60 lb weight class and used it's cutting-edge design to upset the defending National Champion and other challengers. The 220 lb titanium-clad CycloneBot also added to its string of victories. With over 400 bots from 13 countries competing in RoboGames, all three bots placed in the top 10 in this 3-day international robotics competition.

1/5/05: Nuvation client wins 2005 CES Innovations Award for Engineering and Design Excellence
Nuvation today announced that one of its clients has won the prestigious 2005 CES Innovations Award. According to CES, this award “honors outstanding design and engineering in consumer electronics.” Furthermore, the design was realized within 6 months from specification and included clean-sheet industrial, mechanical, DFx, application software, embedded firmware, and electronics design by Nuvation and its affiliate network of service companies.
