11/21/2006: Nuvation expands partnership with TI, joining the Low-Power RF Developer Network 

Nuvation has been a long-term premier member of TI’s 3rd Party DSP Network, certified DaVinci Ecosystem member, and certified MSP430 Ecosystem member.  Today, TI certified Nuvation’s RF/wireless design expertise for TI’s growing line of low-power RF devices.  Nuvation’s expertise in Bluetooth, FM subcarrier, ZigBee a variety of short-range applications in the 315/433/868/915 MHz and 2.4 GHz frequency bands, 802.11 a/b/g/”pre-n”, GPRS, GPS, Doppler radar, and other RF design capabilities are now available in TI’s ‘Low-Power RF’ Ecosystem.  

11/9/2006: Nuvation certified as Microchip Authorized Design House 

Nuvation today announced we have been certified by Microchip Technology as an “Authorized Design House.”   Nuvation’s demonstrated track record in PIC, dsPIC, and other Microchip-based designs were instrumental in achieving authorized status.  Based on this approval, Microchip will recommend Nuvation’s services to its OEMs, while Nuvation gains direct factory access to technical resources, tools, and training as a benefit to our clients.

10/10/06: Nuvation certed as Cypress CYPro Design Center

Nuvation today announced that Cypress Semiconductor has approved Nuvation as a certified CYPro design center for hardware and software development expertise in EZ-USB, FX2, and other Cypress devices. To achieve this status, Nuvation has passed a comprehensive qualification process including factory FAE sponsorship, site surveys, track record validation, and technical qualification testing. Nuvation clients benefit by Nuvation's improved access to factory support and tools, visibility into technology roadmaps to support long-term architecture decisions, and continuous engineering training programs in Cypress devices and tools.
9/25/06: Nuvation demonstrates IP Camera at the ASIS International 2006 Show in San Diego, California

Nuvation displayed the new Pixim IP Camera Reference Design featuring Pixim's ORCA advanced imaging chipset, Mobilygen's MG1264 H.264 CODEC or Micronas (WISChip) MPEG-4 CODEC option, I/O board, embedded Linux, Pixim firmware, and mechanical enclosure.

9/10/06: Nuvation announces ATA OPB Cores for Xilinx EDK
Nuvation today announced ATA-4 OPB and ATA-5 OPB cores for Xilinx EDK tool flow. The cores are available immediately directly through Nuvation. Product briefs can be found online.
9/5/06: Curtis Drever joins Nuvation as Sr. Director of Sales & Business Development. 

Nuvation today announced that Curtis Drever has joined Nuvation as Sr. Director of Sales & Business Development.  Mr. Drever is based in Irvine, CA and as a member of Nuvation's direct sales team, has responsibility for client and channel partner relationships across the Southwest USA.  Previously, Mr. Drever was Director of Sales & Business Development with GDA Technologies.  He has a BSEE from University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA and over 5 years of experience in the Electronic Design Services (EDS) industry.
8/22/06: Nuvation announces Pixim-based IP Camera Reference Design. 

Nuvation today announced availability of a Pixim-based IP Camera Reference Design.  The IP Camera Reference Design includes Pixim-based imaging chipset boards & firmware; processor board options with either Mobilygen MG1264 or Micronas 7007SB ; IO board with Ethernet, USB 2.0, and Analog Video; optional Power over Ethernet (PoE) board, Linux source code, and an ultra-small form factor mechanical enclosure.  More information is available at (insert link to our page).
7/31/06: Jay Aggarwal joins Nuvation as Director of Sales & Business Development. 

Nuvation today announced that Jay Aggarwal has joined Nuvation as Director of Sales & Business Development.  Mr. Aggarwal is based in the San Jose office and has responsibility for client and channel partner relationships as a member of Nuvation's direct sales team.  Previously, Mr. Aggarwal was with ElectriPHY, a fabless semiconductor startup, Ikanos Communications, Xilinx, and Altera.  Mr. Aggarwal has a BSEE from CalPoly San Luis Obispo and an MBA from Santa Clara University. 
6/21/06: Nuvation joins Philips Semiconductor NXP Consultant Program. 

Nuvation today announced that it has passed all qualifications and is now registered as a certified Philips NXP Consultant for both its San Jose, CA and Waterloo, Ontario design centers.  Nuvation has completed numerous embedded system designs featuring Philips LPC2000 and 8051C processor families, including the design and production of Philips' LPC210x QuickStart Development Kit. 
6/19/06: Nuvation-CM Robotics 'battlebots' dominate RoboGames competition in San Francisco, CA. 

Robogames 2006 is a worldwide competition with teams competing from the USA, UK, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Germany, Peru, Brazil, Israel, Iran, S. Korea, and other countries.  Ziggy, our Freescale-sponsored super-heavy weight bot, was undefeated over the weekend bouts and took the Gold medal for combat.  Cyclonebot also did well, scoring two more victories before falling out in a double-elimination tournament.  Texas Heat, our newest combat robot which is sponsored by Texas Intruments, won its debut match and, with its 6 foot flame thrower from a lightweight 60# bot, was a fan favorite. 
6/6/06: Nuvation and Pixim enter strategic alliance for custom video surveillance system design. 

Pixim, a fabless semiconductor company offering the highest quality imaging chipsets in the marketplace, and Nuvation have formalized a partnership to bring video surveillance reference designs to the marketplace and to support Pixim OEMs with custom electronic design services.
4/14/06: Altera and Nuvation renew Certified Design Center status

Nuvation was first field-nominated into Altera's ACAP program in 2001 and later promoted to the Western Regional CDC based on its track record in successful FPGA, DSP co-processing, and complex board designs. In conjunction with the CDC renewal, Nuvation is now authorized to sublicense Altera's MegaCores to its design service clients. This provides for one-stop shopping for custom electronic designs featuring Altera FPGAs and integrated IP from Altera. As a CDC, Nuvation also undergoes specialized training with Altera devices and tools in each of its design centers.
4/8/06: (Tampa, FL) Nuvation-Freescale "Ziggy" dominates Battle of the Beach

Nuvation and CM Robotics unleashed Ziggy at the Battle of the Beach this weekend. Ziggy is Nuvation's newest competition bot, a 340-lb super-heavyweight sponsored by Freescale and operated over ZigBee wireless technology. Ziggy once again trounced the competition and is now ranked second worldwide. The top ranked bot has yet to enter the ring with Ziggy.
4/5/06: Nuvation and TI expand DSP partnership with DaVinci Ecosystem

Nuvation has long been considered a premier TI DSP design center for algorithm development and signal processing architecture, design, coding, and development. 4/4/06: (San Jose, CA) Nuvation and Arrow Electronics partner at Embedded Systems Conference

Nuvation and Arrow are demonstrating together at ESC this week in the San Jose Convention Center. On display this week is "CycloneBot", one of four Nuvation combat robots which has garnered worldwide fame for its competition track record and leading-edge technology. Nuvation has been an Arrow ACES Design Center since 2002, and provides electronic design services for Arrow customers across North America.

2/28/06 (Dallas, TX) Nuvation shows Virtual Socket Adapter at TI Developers Conference

Nuvation today demonstrated FPGA and DSP video co-processing using a Xilinx Virtex-4 SX FPGA with TI DM642 DSP in a "virtual socket" application at the TIDC in Dallas, Texas.  VSA is a System Generator-programmable module in the Virtex-4 that enables users to quickly develop and implement video algorithms in an FPGA while the DSP handles image capture, compression, and transmission.  All of the supporting firmware, VHDL, and documentation are bundled in the VSA application.  VSA  was developed by Nuvation for Xilinx' DSP division and is in the release phase as a reference design packaged with Spectrum Digital's XEVMDM642 FPGA kit.  More details will be made available shortly.
1/31/06: Nuvation Waterloo Design Center moves to new office

Nuvation's Waterloo Design Center relocates to a larger office space within the city, doubling its size. With record revenues and an increase in projects, Nuvation is rapidly growing. The new address will be effective Feb. 15, 2006.
1/3/06: Nuvation introduces Algorithm Acceleration Service

Nuvation unveiled today an initiative to provide specialized algorithm acceleration services for clients worldwide. Nuvation's Algorithm Acceleration team is dedicated to helping clients achieve dramatic improvements in signal processing through hardware acceleration. Services include porting PC applications to embedded systems, developing FPGA/DSP/Hybrid architectures, High Performance Computing (HPC) acceleration through Opteron/FPGA integration, and other algorithm optimization services. Nuvation has already developed significant capabilities in these technologies and is now formalizing the program in conjunction with several new design starts.
