Nuvation HEADLINES ![]()
| Message from Nuvation's CEO Michael Worry President & CEO Nuvation Ladies and Gentlemen, the recession is over. In fact, it feels like we're in a "Party Like It's 1999". A resurgent investment in technology and a decidedly optimistic business forecast have put Nuvation on track to exceed even our most optimistic growth forecasts. I'd like to extend a heartfelt thanks to our amazing clients and partners for the opportunity to work with such talented people and exciting technologies, and collectively to bring the latest round of killer applications to market! I'd like to truly welcome our new clients and thank our loyal existing clients - we really appreciate you and will always go the extra mile to support you! I'd also like to thank our extreme engineering team, our record breaking sales team and our incredibly supportive partners. In fact, due to popular demand for our services, Nuvation has open engineering positions. Should you know highly talented and passionate engineers who share a strong work ethic, pride themselves in the quality of their work, enjoy working with customers on a variety of different technologies (medical, defense, consumer, telecom, motor control, etc), and love to be part of a team, we would be very appreciative for an introduction! One of the really fun aspects of the engineering design services industry is the unique challenges we get to take on. There's always a new technology coming around the corner to provide new features, faster bandwidth and lower pin counts. Our active projects include use of the new H.264 and PCI-Express standards, and inside we have some articles on our experiences that we hope will be useful for you. Nuvation is also expanding our IP business unit, and in addition to our Gigabit Ethernet Over SONET core (GEOS), we also now have several flavors of ATA cores. Nuvation recently closed an outside investment round to support our continued IP development as well as an engineering green field research project into the usage of dynamic FPGA technology in advanced computing. As we complete the marketing and technology research, we'll be in position for a spinoff product venture as we did with Blue Iguana. Along with our busy projects, Nuvation also likes to have fun! Our team success is founded in a culture where people enjoy spending time together - both in and out of the office. Our Nuvation Unique Team Spirit (N.U.T.S.) crew always has plans for some eyebrow-raising events and stunts. We recently had a "story generating" Napa trip, an awesome St. Paddy's day party, and we've had fun offshoots like shark fishing, circus trapeze, and hot Yoga! In partnership with CM Robotics, Nuvation continues the weekend warrior development on our combat robots that fight at Steel Conflict, ROBOlympics, and BattleBots. You want rugged engineering design? Consider designing for the carnage of robotic combat and colliding at 100mph with other robots and steel I-beams! A huge thanks to our sponsors at Altera and Freescale (Motorola) for their support and technology. We're looking to showcase technology from an advanced battery manufacturer if anybody wants to help! Our culture is rooted in the profound privilege to make a difference. That includes causing a technology breakthrough with our clients, inspiring a class of elementary school kids with robotic creations, and reaching out to our community. About a dozen Nuvation employees joined Habit for Humanity in helping to build homes for low income families. We're also ramping up for our annual Hike for a Cure. My nephew was born with a rare blood disease called Histiocytosis that is absent in the government funding plan, so we hike Half Dome each year to raise research funds and public awareness. This is our fourth annual hike, we're going to have 200 hikers and raise $100k! So bring a friend! Thanks for your interest in Nuvation and for taking the time to read our newsletter. Consider having our team help you with your next FPGA, board, embedded software, or signal integrity project. If you already are a Nuvation client, we look forward to our next project together. If we haven't worked together yet, we'd love to include you with our many satisfied clients! Keep Smiling!
