Catching Spring Fever!
Spring is here, and business is blossoming. We have new designs, exciting technologies, and next-generation products brewing at Nuvation. Thank you for taking the time to read this issue of CURRENT, which has now attracted well over several thousand subscribers.
Also, many thanks to all of our clients, partners, and employees for an excellent past quarter.
Some of the more interesting projects we have had the honor of designing include a DSP application of facial recognition, an advanced polyphase video scaler, a broadcast video card, pro audio equipment, and a cool new DSP-based mp3 player.
This issue of CURRENT debuts part-one of Ben’s new Power Supply corner, discussing design principles, techniques and solutions for all things “power”. Ben starts his discussion of off line switching power supplies beginning at the wall plug and proceeding to final output. Our device spotlight shines some light on IPFlex’s DAPDNA-2. In a single clock cycle – 6 nanoseconds – the entire device can reprogram to run a completely different algorithm. This changes the landscape for bringing reconfigurable computing into the mainstream. Finally, we’re excited to be rolling out an Actel-based ATA-5 core for all our customers, eager to drop into their nextgen devices.
The market is strong, and we are growing! Our Waterloo Design Center in Canada has moved to a new larger location and is in constant expansion. We look forward to continued growth as one of the premier design services company in North America and hope to count you among our long-term clients.
Our infamous Cinco de Mayo Open House is around the corner! I would like to personally invite you to join us for the Friday festivities. We will be hosting with drinks, food, fun and games, at the San Jose Office.
See you then!
