DSP-based IP Camera Reference Design
IP Update
In the last issue, we introduced Nuvation’s IP Camera Reference Design showcasing exceptional video quality in an ultra-compact form factor with low power and COGS. The camera features Pixim's Orca advanced imaging chipset, ASSP options for MPEG-4 or H.264 encoding, an ARM9 MCU with embedded Linux 2.6, various IOs including 802.3 Ethernet and USB OTG, Pixim firmware, and a mechanical enclosure with CS Lense.
Nuvation has developed a new option set for the IP Camera based on a leading dual-core DSP with integrated ARM processor. This advancement enables codec flexibility and advanced analytics capabilities in a single manufacturing build. The DSP-based IP Camera is ideal for OEMs that want a sophisticated, programmable processor to adapt and stay ahead of the technology curve.
We believe this is the smallest form factor, highest quality IP Camera in the market. We are currently disclosing customers under NDA and will make public announcements in the coming weeks.
The IP Camera Reference Design can be licensed to customers who want to start with a clean set of schematics, layouts, mechanicals, Linux and other software code as a base for their own products. It is also intended for OEMs who want to private-label the IP Camera or a modified design. Nuvation offers customization services to modify the IP Camera to match customer specifications. Several leading security companies are leveraging Nuvation’s Reference Design and/or expertise to speed them to volume production.
