NUVATION ENGINEERING ENHANCES ELECTRONIC PRODUCT DESIGNAND MANUFACTURING SERVICES WITH NEW WATERLOO FACILITY

San Jose, California (August 15, 2011) — Nuvation Engineering, a leading provider of electronic product development services, has recently moved into a new product design center in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The new facility features a larger design and development lab that enhances Nuvation’s engineering capabilities and increases its electronics and software design capacity. The 10,600-square-foot facility also has dedicated space and expanded infrastructure for Controlled Goods Program (CGP) projects. The new building has been custom-designed with multiple full ESD-protected electronics labs, full building security with access controls, two design areas with additional security controls, six meeting rooms, and a large meeting area to facilitate our in-house and vendor training activities. The facility also contains an advanced IT system that utilizes a computing cluster to maximize processing power for offline FPGA analysis and simulation.
“The facility expansion is part of a strategic decision by Nuvation to further invest in our design centers and enhance our electronic product development capabilities and capacity. This world class facility was designed specifically for our R&D operations and provides us with the necessary space for developing new product designs and helping our customers accelerate their time to market,” said Michael Hermann, vice president at Nuvation Engineering.
From initial electronics architecture to new product manufacturing, Nuvation’s Waterloo design center provides accelerated hardware and software design services, developing all of the boards, programmable logic, firmware and software to make products operate properly and efficiently. Nuvation creates complex products integrating FPGAs, DSPs, analog/power, RF, microprocessors and other cutting-edge technologies for customers. The new Waterloo facility has expanded Nuvation’s already wide offering of embedded systems design services, as well as signal integrity analysis, algorithm development, and device drivers. The new Waterloo facility is located in Canada’s technology triangle, providing access to a base of highly technical university and experienced talent. The facility is expected to house 50 employees by the end of 2011.
